We had our last soccer games this weekend and it was a lot of fun! We have had our ups and downs with this season. Both kids went thru times of not wanting to play or wanting to play with "Coach Diana in Colorado where it wasn't so HOT!" And we all agreed. And sometimes it was freezing cold and we didn't go to the games or practice prepared but all in all, it was a really great experience for us all.
They both had really great coaches who were patient and understanding. It gave Hollyann a new perspective on the game and Andrew a good introduction to learning about sports and how to be on a team. Soccer here in Prattville is a pretty big deal and they could have ended up with a number of different coaches but I know God put them where they needed to be with the teammates they needed to have so it was all good.
Our biggest news was that Andrew actually scored a goal yesterday in his final game! And at the after party, his coach said that if she had to pick a "most improved player" it would have been our Drew! How great! Maybe he will want to play again in the spring, we'll see.
Hollyann saw her brother score and she wanted to so badly but just couldn't get to the goal in time. I hope she gives herself another opportunity to try. She really got much better this season and with more hard work and practice, I really think she could be good.
I love my kids - they are real troopers!
