Thanksgiving

Just wanted to let you know what we did for the holiday. Not much :0)

Barrett's parents are here from San Antonio and so Barrett's dad helped a little bit with the stuffing and appetizers. But otherwise it was a traditional meal with turkey, jello, rolls, green bean casserole, cranberries and all that good stuff.

We also had a couple of OTS students here for the grand dinner. They were a couple of nice guys who didn't have family coming into town to visit them so we just fed them and had a nice chat. I'm afraid we were a little boring because they asked to go back to base a little early. We didn't do anything after lunch but nap and watch football. At least they got away from the confines of OTS and had a little normalcy. Oh well, we are not the best hosts to people we don't know but at least we tried.

We had a couple of other adventures with Bruce & Sandy this week. Sunday, of course, was Hollyann's bath-tism. Monday, we went up north to the lost luggage place. We were a little disappointed in that. It was a long drive for not much but we enjoyed the drive anyway. Tuesday, we went to an old plantation house and just drove around or a bit. Wednesday, we went to the White House of the Confederacy and all of Jefferson Davis' old junk. We also went to the capital building and toured around. That was interesting and something all of you should see when you come visit us here in Alabama! We also drove passed Martin Luther King's church. There is quite a bit of history here, even if we don't really know it coming from the west.

And tomorrow we will get up early to hit all the stores before dawn and then hang out with Grammy & Grampa before they have take off after lunch.

We hope you all had a great Thanksgiving and remembered all the things we should thank the Lord for - He is so great!
