As most of you know, we went to Alabama for Thanksgiving to spent the holiday with Barrett's family. Since we are not going to see eachother for Christmas, we decided to do both holidays on the same weekend. We very much enjoyed Janelle's and Paige's wonderful cooking on Thursday and after a little shopping on Black Friday, we had our Christmas. We had a great time! Hannah did not sleep well but she was still in good spirits and everyone enjoyed meeting her. She was her usual, happy self most of the time except for an episode with a terrible diaper rash but we took care of that quickly. She has VERY sensitive skin so we need to be pretty careful with her. We got great gifts (thanks, everyone :0)) and got to savor one of our favorites that we don't have in VA, Sonic Drive-In! Stephen & Paige and Homer & Sandy had to leave Friday afternoon so they could get back to their lives in TX without being too exhausted but we stayed until Sat morning. We were gonna stay later but decided to head out around 10:00am and make it home before it got too late. We beat the traffic back into the city (which was a major goal of ours) and slept in our own beds. Hannah did much better at home, sorry to say. Maybe she isn't a great traveler like her siblings. We will see how it goes when we go up to MI for Christmas. It might help that she will get to sleep in her cousin, Thomas', bed which is an actual crib instead of a pack n play. I'm sure I'll let you know if she sleeps or not :0)
Collin & Janelle have a great home and have really settled in to their lives in Madison, AL. Collin took us on a little driving tour to show us their school, church and his work. It seems like a great place to live and they have declared that, after a year of uncertainty, they are perfectly happy to stay there for a very long time - they are done with change for a while!
