We did run into rain for about 3 hours but it didn't get hairy until about 20 min from Jeff & Steph's house. We are a little out of practice driving in yucky weather but Barrett did great and we got there without incident and not even that late.
We spent Christmas Eve playing in the snow and getting ready for the big day. Finishing up some shopping for food and such took up some time. All the cousins generously gave up their rooms so we could sleep in their beds. It was very nice. The big kids slept well but Hannah didn't so Barrett and I didn't - oh well :0)
We woke up Christmas morning to find that Santa had come and we were all ready to sing Happy Birthday to Jesus and enjoy His cake for breakfast (along with some amazing cinnamon rolls that Steph made.)
Santa was very generous and we spent hours and hours opening presents and enjoying eachothers' company.
Jeff made Christmas dinner for prime rib with all the trimmings - yummy! What a treat :0)
We shopped a little on the day after Christmas and by that time, Hannah was sleeping so awfully that I just couldn't take it anymore. I wanted to do a little more shopping with my mom & Steph but we just couldn't stay for Katie's birthday on Monday. I was too exhausted and crabby! We left about 8:00 on Sunday morning and made it home by 5:30. Weather was clear and only hit a little bit of traffic trying to get back in to the city.
It was a wonderful Christmas and we thank Papa & Mema and Jeff & Steph and all the cousins for being so generous and making Hannah's first Christmas one for the record books!
