My parents just missed the HUGE storm in Colorado and flew into Atlanta on Tuesday. After a little snafu with time zones, we picked them up safe and sound. We found them in a flannel shirt and a sweater, roasting in the Georgia sun about an hour after we were supposed to have picked them up - they were very gracious and forgave us instantly. We felt really stupid but all is forgotten now :0)

We went downtown, ate lunch at Johnny Rockets and then went to the Coca-Cola museum. It was really interesting and we got to taste all the different sodas from around the world. Andrew
LOVED it. He got his own glass and all the coke he could drink - he was in heaven. Everything was good except the bitter-whatever from Italy. It tasted like ear wax (and don't ask how I know what ear wax tastes like - you know you know what it tastes like!)

Then we drove north of Atlanta for about 2 hours to the little German town of Helen. It was
lovely and we are so glad we went. We had a tradtional German dinner from a very little old lady we thought was surely German but she was just Georgian. It was yummy and we even got free apple streudal for dessert.

We have spent the last couple of days crafting, building, eating and touring. We have had a great time so far and it's not even Christmas yet! Barrett and I went on an all-day date to Birmingham on Friday. Traffic was a little hairy but we got all the rest of our shopping done and got to spend some much needed time together.
Yesterday, we went to Old Alabama Town and saw all old plantation houses and a cotton gin and all that kinda stuff. My parents really dig that kind of history and it was very interesting to them to see all about settling this part of the country when all they've ever really learned about is the wild west.
Well, there will be lots more news to come and pictures, too. So keep cking back as I will let you know how our Christmas all comes out.
